A Vision.

In 2008 standing in the midst of an earthquake area outside of Chengdu, China we caught a glimpse of the great emotional need that survivors of trauma in developing countries experience and the lack of training expats and nationals have in meeting those needs. It was from this experience a vision to heal the nations through effective training and intervention was cast.

An Evolution.

All great visions evolve with experience and time. Greater education and experience was garnered between 2008 and now that has led to Rapha’s current model of producing change. Experience in places like Afghanistan and Nepal brought greater understanding of the similarities in how trauma is experienced across the world, and how cultures can promote or stymie healing. Through experiences in working domestically with survivors of trauma the approach has further evolved since 2008.

A Reality.

The Rapha Project is the tangible reality of a vision cast in 2008 that has progressed over the years into an organization that desires to bring people healing that do not have easy access to effective intervention.
